Fireside Discussions
In ancient times, knowledge was passed to the next generation by village elders as everyone warmed themselves around a great fire. They hoped to prepare youngsters for their future. In modern times, Curio keeps this tradition alive by hosting “Fireside Discussions.” Join our Fireside discussions and gain insights to help you make informed college decisions. Watch, listen and engage with current students who are studying abroad, former admissions officers, and successful young professionals.
Essay Workshop
Getting accepted to a great school is becoming difficult: high marks are no longer enough to snare the attention of admissions officers. Learning to express yourself compellingly in writing is becoming a necessary skill for every college-bound student. Curio’s essay workshops will help you tell “your story”. We refine your basic writing skills, and improve your storytelling.
School Research & Tours
Every college has its own unique ecosystem. Campus design, school spirit, dorm availability, course curriculum, and even the local weather can affect your study experience. Our campus tours will take you to many interesting campuses. Explore which campus and school atmosphere is a match for you.
Extracurricular Activities
Curio believes that passion is an important factor in determining academic success. We like to get to know our students and discover what inspires them. We use their hobbies and interests as a starting point, and explore which can bring out their passion using our database of hundreds of extracurricular activities. We push our students to get involved, try new things, and take responsibility. We conduct follow up meetings and suggest new activities to further refine our students’ passions. Curio students know who they are and what they want.
Events
We want Curio students to have access to reliable information and experiences, but we also want our students to be happy. We have built a community that shares a passion for learning. We host Mock College Interviews, Open Houses, Social Impact Events, and student mixers. Students are welcome to participate, ask questions, and learn from our guest speakers, counselors, mentors, and other Curio students. The college application process can be stressful, but Curio’s community is here to offer support every step of the way.
