Confidence Begins With Understanding
One of the most common challenges that international students face in the US is staying culturally engaged after the school day. In many situations, foreign students find themselves in an unfamiliar environment they are ill-equipped to handle, with a western family who lacks the cultural knowledge to communicate effectively with the student they are hosting. This leads to homesickness, isolation, and a lack of participation in the American household. Students who go abroad deserve a warm, protective environment in which they can flourish and explore the American experience.
Curio Education has developed a homestay program focused on finding caring and dedicated families that are as unique as your student. The opportunity to develop cultural dexterity will extend seamlessly from classroom to living room. Applicants of this program including Global Scholars will either live with classmates as part of a boarding school experience or be matched with a homestay family with special consideration for their social and lifestyle preferences. We work closely with partner schools to identify homestay families within the school system to develop an optimal living environment for each student, ensuring that cultural immersion continues even after the school day ends. Regardless of whether our students live with a homestay family or attend boarding school, they can be confident that they will have many opportunities to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of their local community with a caring, responsive American support system.
